Crofton MD Low Back Pain Relief Is Closer Than You Think Can Be Possible

No one wants to live with any type of pain in their body. It is a problem when it occurs in the lumbar spine. Walking may be difficult and hurt a lot. The pain may continue whether the person sits at a desk or tries standing up at work. Even laying down may not stop the pain. Turning to a Crofton chiropractor is the optimal way to discover a way to alleviate the hurting.

Many people are leery of taking any medication for fear of becoming addicted. Chiropractic care is both medication free and non-invasive. Back pain with no known cause is called non-specific chronic lumbar pain.

The small hollow bones of the spine are called vertebrae. The spinal cord where all the nerves come from runs through these bones. Each two are separated by discs filled with a soft gel-like substance. This keeps them from rubbing against each other as the individual moves around.

When the vertebrae are out of place, the nerves can be compressed. Each disc has a firm outer layer and is filled with a semi-liquid substance. A part of the disc can be herniated. That is when pressure against the spinal nerves causes pain.

The initial office visit includes the evaluation. The client may be asked to fill out a page detailing his or her medical history. Next he or she will be asked about the onset of pain, whether it is sharp or dull and is it hurting continuously. Other questions include whether an injury could account for the problem.

It is important to complete the testing. An x-ray may be taken. Further tests may be indicated. No care can be provided until the evaluation is finished. This assessment will indicate what to consider as care.

The care will include spinal adjustments if the chiropractor considers them appropriate. Concurrent care may be heat and ice applications. The ice pack serves to numb the area and then a heating pad restores the blood flow. This is how chiropractic care manages pain without any medication.
