Why One Should Use Aluminum Free Deodorant

By Lisa Snyder

Toxins in the body are naturally eliminated through various ways. One of the ways of elimination is through the skin. Elimination of toxins through the skin results into a naturally unpleasant body odor, which everybody has. To manage this odor, most people use deodorants, which they apply everyday so that they have a better smell. It is important to choose a product that is not toxic, but still produces a long lasting effect on the human body.

One class of deodorants comes to mind when talking about toxin free deodorant products. This class of deodorants is that of aluminum free deodorant products. The negative effects of aluminium-based deodorants have been backed by several claims, some of which do not have any supporting evidence. To begin with, there are claims that these products cause cancer, even though there is still ongoing research to ascertain the claims. No evidence currently supports such claims.

However, the need to adopt natural alternatives instead of aluminium products is supported by many reasons. First, aluminium products mask body odor through production of sweet smells. This is not healthy because it avoids solving the main problem. Baking soda contained in natural alternatives help to prevent odor-causing bacteria from forming. Therefore, they are better at managing bad body odor.

Although no solid evidence exists to link aluminium deodorants to cancer, Alzheimer disease is strongly correlated to high aliminium diseases. The implication is that Alzheimer disease may be caused by a high concentration of aluminium in the human body. Therefore, avoiding the consumption of aluminium is advisable, especially as cases of Alzheimer increase. Today, many young people suffer from Alzheimer disease.

Avoidance of aluminium-based deodorants is always advised for pregnant women. This is to avoid introducing toxins into the body. Chemical deodorants are supposed to be avoided just like smoking and drinking should be avoided. What enters into the body of the mother also enters of the infant. If the substance is harmful to the body of the mother, then its effect on the infant is even much worse.

The use of natural deodorants improve the health of the skin. Heavy commercial deodorant products may cause wear and tear to the skin in the long run. This may result into dry and chaffed skin, which most people try hard to avoid. In the same way, chemical deodorants have parabens, which are estrogenic, as part of their contents. Estrogen is absorbed through the skin and may upset hormonal balance within the body.

The metal additives contained in chemical deodorants may not be safe for people with sensitive skins. When applied, these products are likely to cause rashes, lumps, or hives among other adverse effects. The reaction from chemical deodorants is particularly adverse. This is contrasted from natural products which cause no adverse effects in most cases.

Finally, when comparing the prices, chemical deodorants are relatively more expensive that natural ones. That is another reason for going with natural alternatives. Purchases can be made online and from stores dealing in related products. All ingredients in a product are usually indicated on its container. The list should always be checked be purchasing.
